How my life on a board started

I Started longboarding July 2004 and i was living in Miami at the time. My first board was a Fluid - Island Cruiser. I got it at a Surf shop called Surf Syndicate in FT Lauderdale. Reason why i got it was because at the same time i was getting into surfing. I wanted to do something outside the water when there wasn't any waves. So i went in and there it was my first longboard hanging on the wall. The guy wanted to get rid of it. It was 80 bucks and he knocked off 50 percent. I'm telling you that will be the only time i will ever buy a complete board that cheap.  At the time i did nothing, but cruise and hit the FIU car garages. I didn't believe in Safety at the time and i rode without a helmet and gloves of course. I also didn't think you can do much with the board, but carve. It was when i went to the train station and met a stranger. He came up to me and ask to ride it. He told me he used to have one back in California. Then i saw him busting a Coleman slide and 180's. That really got my interest, so i kept practicing till i got the slides down. For 5 years i just cruise and hit garages. I also got my Bestfriend Irmy and my Ex Girlfriend Tiff to get a longboard. They still longboard today.
